Sunday at Desertfest London 2018
For the final day of this years Desertfest I stayed put at The Roundhouse. This place is a spectacular building, a former railway engine shed, and a great venue for great music.
First up were are Swedish trio Monolord who played a really enjoyable set of their anthemic doom laden tracks. Try out their latest album 'Rust', its very good indeed.
American psychedelic rockers Nebula played a powerful set, all the more enjoyable for the crowd to see after a seven year hiatus!
What can I say about Hawkwind? Another great psychedelic space rock show, heavy riffs and crazy visuals. Dave Brock is still the master of this circus, and 49 years after founding the band still seems to thoroughly enjoy himself.
The festival was wrapped up by Monster Magnet. A very fit looking Dave Wyndorf leads the band through a chunky and heavy set full of hits. A great set to finish a great weekend.
So, my personal festival highlights? Definitely Zeke closely followed by Monolord and Napalm Death. Another great Desertfest and I very much look forward to the next one.
I shot the day for Heavy Music Artwork, find them online and across social media. Also look out for the excellent printed editions and the collectors series of books.
